QUALITY/PROCESS ENGINEER CHEMICALS MANUFACTURING

Summary:

Reporting to the Lean Manager/Business, this person will lead the business-wide quality and process improvement initiatives in order to maximize customer satisfaction and meet stated sales objectives.  Also responsible for maximizing the manufacturing efficiencies in order to achieve the lowest cost per pound as possible. 


Responsibilities:

  • Assure quality of all raw materials in the process
  • Analyze production line layouts, determine best methods for production planning and scheduling, coordinate activities and ensure product quality including in-line testing procedures.  Present recommended changes and execute them.  Implement/modify SOPs for Operators to reduce process variability.  Measure baseline capability of equipment and optimized process.
  • Project Management – Lead assigned projects from conception to execution.
  • Process Improvement – implement and sustain lean manufacturing methods, perform root cause analysis, utilize statistical methods, perform time studies.
  • Determine initial process capabilities of new products introduced to Site
  • Develop and Maintain control plan to assure product quality
  • Partner with business to measure customer satisfaction and respond all customer concerns through manufacturing corrective actions
  • Conduct Gage studies on machinery as dictated by control plans

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of experience as a process/quality engineer in a chemicals manufacturing environment
  • ISO experience
  • Auditor Training
