We are looking for a Principal Scientist – Waterproofing Membranes to lead product development of waterproofing membranes for the commercial roofing industry. He/She will be responsible for formulation and application development of new products as well as value engineering initiatives targeted for the existing product line. He/she will interface closely with other scientists to design, formulate, and develop processes, products, systems, and applications using broad polymer science and composite material concepts. The ability to use material characterization techniques such as FTIR, ICP, Chromotagraphy, DMA, DSC and Rheometry to evaluate new compounds is essential. Establishing correlations with the analytical data to the performance and durability of the finished product is also required in order to reduce development time, establish quantitative performance benchmarks, and assure that products & systems will meet building code body and internal performance standards. They will also be collaborating with the process engineering teams to assist in scale up of these products such that all internal cost and performance requirements are met. The successful candidate is also expected to collaboratively support 3rd party finished product & systems code testing as well as working with Marketing, customers and suppliers on key programs.
