A refined search process yields candidates who are compatible with your business

Prior to finalizing a search contract, a Century Associates' client manager will meet with you to understand the search assignment; company culture and management style so that we can recommend appropriate candidates. This process proceeds through four distinct steps:

Phase 1: Description

The first step of any search assignment begins with the establishment of specific requirements for the position(s) being assigned. Our client managers meet with key members of your management team to discuss the position and the role of the individual in the organizational framework of the company. A job description is then formulated to include the responsibilities and duties that the potential employee will be expected to perform. Finally, a listing of candidate qualifications is established for work experience, educational background and personal attributes needed to excel within the company culture.

Phase 2: Recruitment

Using the information gathered in Phase 1, we conduct a targeted search for individuals who possess attributes similar to the position requirements. Century has vast resources from which to pull potential candidates:

  • We query our comprehensive and confidential database.
  • We recruit directly from companies that share your competitive space.
  • We solicit referrals from existing candidates.
  • We attend networking functions and trade shows to discover talented professionals who might meet the needs of our clients.

Each candidate is screened by telephone and, if necessary, in face-to-face interviews. These screening activities enable us to hone our analysis of each candidate and present only those who possess the specific requirements of the position.

Phase 3: Communication

We believe continued communication is critical to the successful completion of any search project. We send you formal progress summaries, as well as informal updates, making modifications to the job description, if necessary. Simultaneously, we remain in contact with potential hires and act as a liaison to ensure that interviews are scheduled, travel arrangements are made and the needs and expectations of both parties are effectively communicated.

Phase 4: Closing

Once you select a candidate, we help to communicate important issues related to the offer. We can assist in the development of the compensation package and act as a buffer to minimize and resolve any issues that arise during the offer negotiation. Once an offer has been accepted, Century can work closely with the candidate's relocation efforts.
